What Is Wall Covering Recovery?
Wall covering recovery is the process of removing the existing fabric, vinyl, or wallpaper covering from movable partition panels and applying new covering in its place. The panels, tracks, and hardware you already own stay right where they are. What changes is what everyone sees.
For most venues, recovery is the smart alternative to full system replacement. A movable wall system in good mechanical condition can serve a property for decades, but its covering will look dated or worn long before the system itself gives out. Recovery restores the panels to like-new condition at a fraction of the cost of tearing out and replacing the entire wall.

The most common scenario is renovation. A hotel or event venue refreshes its ballroom, and the design team specifies new wall coverings throughout the space. The movable partition panels have to match the new design, and applying wallcovering to operable panels is not work a general contractor or painter can take on. That is when we get the call.

Our Recovery Process
Assessment
We inspect your panels, coverings, and the condition of the adhesive underneath. Recovery only lasts if the surface underneath is prepared correctly, so we start by understanding exactly what we are working with.
Coordination With Your Design Team
On renovation projects, the wallcovering material is typically specified by the project’s design team. We work with the covering your designers have selected and advise on how it will perform on operable panels.
Adhesive Abatement and Surface Preparation
Old adhesive must be fully removed and the panel surface properly prepared before anything new goes on. Skipping or rushing this step is why recovery work done by generalists fails early. We never skip it.
Application
New covering is applied with the correct adhesive for the panel material and covering type. Operable panels flex, move, and take contact in ways fixed walls never do, and the application has to account for that.
Final Inspection
Every panel is checked for adhesion, alignment, and finish quality before we call the job done.
